Introducing Watcher: Why we are building a better way to monitor performance
The Problem We Couldn't Ignore

Originally posted at apogeewatcher.com
Running a digital agency means managing dozens of client websites. Each site needs regular performance monitoring, but the tools available were either too expensive, too complex, or too limited. We found ourselves spending hours each week manually checking PageSpeed scores, copying data into spreadsheets, and trying to explain performance metrics to clients who just wanted to know: "Is my site fast enough?"
The breaking point came when a client's site performance dropped significantly after a deployment, and we didn't find out until they called us two weeks later. By then, their search rankings had already suffered. We needed something better.
What We're Building
Watcher is a comprehensive PageSpeed monitoring platform designed for agencies, developers, and businesses that take website performance seriously. We're building it to solve the problems we've faced ourselves:
Automated monitoring that runs daily tests without manual intervention
Unified dashboard for managing multiple client sites from one place
Intelligent alerts that notify you the moment performance degrades
Beautiful reports that make it easy to communicate performance to clients
Multi-tenant architecture built specifically for agencies managing multiple organizations
Our Approach
Instead of building another generic monitoring tool, we're focusing on what actually matters for performance monitoring:
Automated discovery - We scan your sites and find pages to monitor automatically
Core Web Vitals tracking - We measure what Google actually uses for rankings
Smart alerting - You get notified when it matters, not when it's too late
Client-ready reporting - Generate professional PDFs you can send directly to clients
Team collaboration - Built-in role management for agencies with multiple team members
What's Coming
We're currently in active development, building the features that will make Watcher the go-to solution for performance monitoring. Our roadmap includes:
Advanced performance budgets and threshold management
Integration with Slack, email, and webhooks for notifications
Historical trend analysis and competitive benchmarking
White-label branding for agencies
API access for custom integrations
